TITAN Group and the Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation are contributing jointly in the effort to respond to the wildfire crisis, with immediate and long-term initiatives totalling €1,000,000.
More specifically, in close and direct cooperation with the local authorities in all the areas where it operates, TITAN is providing mobile equipment to competent organizations fighting wildfires and creating fire-protection zones. At the same time, it is undertaking initiatives that focus on prevention of and protection from forest fires and is providing €500,000 for the:
- Conversion of 50 cement silo vehicles into water tanks, granting these vehicles to local government.
- Creation of open water tanks for the rapid resupply of firefighting helicopters.
- Implementation of sustainable programmes for the management and restoration of the natural environment and the prevention of future fires in selected affected areas, in cooperation with the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature and the Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems and Forest Products Technology and relevant organisations.
The Paul and Alexandra Canellopoulos Foundation will commit €500,000 in initiatives for immediate response to the tragic repercussions of this year’s fires. Needs and resources will be determined and allocated in consultation with the competent authorities.
