Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, Albania

After extensive consultations, Tirana, Albania’s capital, settled on a new design for its main square. Skanderbeg Square was pedestrianized, planted with trees and greenery and paved with stones taken from every corner of Albania, symbolizing all regions of the country. The new design for Skanderbeg Square includes a pedestrian-only zone measuring 41,000 square meters and an underground car park.

The square was constructed using cement exclusively supplied by TITAN Albania’s Antea cement plant. The project was a major investment involving approximately 950 people.

Opened to the public in June 2017, the new Skanderbeg Square was a transformative development for central Tirana.
